This week we went to Keanae, which is about halfway to Hana, and worked between the rain to create images with strong impact. In this i mage the rocks in the foreground set a nice frame for the slashing waves along the lava rock wall in the background. Repetition is present in this image in the form of the rocks in the foreground, mid-ground and background. This helps the viewer enter the scene, take it in, see the splash and then exit the frame. Beside the rocks repeating in structure, their shapes and textures also repeat. Look for similar rises and falls among the rocks. Some have jagged and pointy tops, and others are flat. All these elements come together and create a strong impact.
