We would like to invite everyone to a fine art photography exhibit at the Honua Kai Resort and Spa in Kaanapali Maui March 17-27. The hours are 5-9 PM daily. Mieko will be introducing her latest art piece Prayer for Whales and Douglas will be introducing a his latest island scenic, turtle, shark, sunset, waterfall, and whale portraits on canvas and aluminum.
Doug will also be showing for the first time a limited edition portfolio on Aluminum. Ten portraits have been selected to be part of the collection. Each portrait will be printed on Aluminum and be 12 x 18 in size. The portfolio comes in aluminum case. Only 49 portfolios will be made.
As a result of the tragedy in Japan, Douglas and Mieko decided to add the Japanese Red Cross to their Art for Conservation Program. It enables people around the world to purchase art and help raise money for marine conservation and education. Now, it will include tsunami relief. When someone purchases a piece of art we will ask them if they want their donation to go to whale preservation, education, or the Japanese Red Cross. The portrait is 27 x 40 in size and costs $950. The amount donated is $350.
