This is one of my favorite Maui portraits. The church is on private property and these days, one must get permission to go down the road that gets you to the church. I created this landscape portrait a while back before the chain was put up to block access.
I love the lines of the cliffs on the far left, then the dirt road, stone fence, and even the grass that leads the eye to the church. The bend of the tree on the left side helps frame the church and adds a bit of depth to the portrait. The low camera angle puts the horizon low in the frame and puts the church at the base of the heavenly clouds. The palm trees on far right create a lovely line and add a nice finishing touch to the image.
