Maui Photo Tours – Composition tip. Use low vantage points to create interesting photographs

low point of view creates interesting perspective

When going to scenic locations, the majority of people look at a scene, raise the camera to their eyes and take a picture. The result is an image created from a normal perspective. If you want to create images of a scene that are unique, try using a low vantage point. The resulting image will have a horizon that is not going through the middle of the frame as is typical of pictures taken from eye level.

low camera angle puts horizon in upper third of frame.
