Oceanic White Tip Shark

Oceanic White Tip Sharks are among my favorite shark species to photograph. Known as the fourth most dangerous shark, Oceanic’s are pelagic and hang out in deep water. Many times they are found near a pod of short Fin Pilot Whales. On this particular day we came across three sharks at once, and minutes later two single sharks came by for a close look.

When it comes to this species of shark, I feel comfortable in the water with one or two sharks. When a third shows up I start to get nervous. However, when there are five sharks in the water, it’s time to get back in the boat. These sharks demand respect.
